我心靈得安寧

今天晚上聽了一個動人的故事，是關於《我心靈得安寧》的作曲者 -- 司百福。

司百福在經歷人生多次跌倒之後，寫下我《心靈得安寧》這首振撼人心的詩歌。

1871年，他僅有的兒子先離開世界。隨後，他在芝加哥大火中痛失家園。1873年，本與家人到歐洲遊玩，他自己卻因公事延遲出發。然而，他妻子帶著四個女兒所乘的郵船維利號（S.S. Ville du Havre）被撞沉，僅他妻子獲救。

司百福隨即乘船前往英國，水手給他指出他女兒們出事的地點時，司百福遙望這片汪洋大海，心中的傷痛彷彿得到天父的安慰，回到船艙便寫下《我心靈得安寧》這首詩歌。

故事到這裡還沒有結束，司百福最後與他再生的兩名兒女，在耶路撒冷建立志願組織American Colony，幫助貧窮人，為主燃燒一生。
